    Grants Committee

Russell reported there no update. There was a proposal to the board on some principals for grants. The feedback was: around $5 per attendee, geographic weighting of grants, need a failover condition if no quorum. In 2014-5, the DSF provided some $12k in grants (not including larger conferences).

Proposal, an initial allocation of $6k for the committee to distribute. Approved by the board.

    Trademark re-registration

    Andy reported no progress.

    DjangoCon Europe 2016

Russell will meeting with Baptiste in November. Problems with the previous venue, but a new venue is almost sorted out and signed.

    DjangoCon US 2015

    Russell reports a roaring success.

    DjangoCon US 2016

First week of August looking like a preferred date.

    Django Fundraising Committee

Ola reports that the Node.js foundation is working in co-operation with the Linux Foundation, perhaps to help with fundraising. Platinum membership costs $250k and can offer board seats.

Suggestion to change the donation page to make it more general and not just towards the foundation. Proposed we should speak to companies to find out what DSF can do for their donation.

    Business done during the month

    Hello Web App

An intermediate Kickstarter. $400 USD approved by the board.

    New Business

    Django Girls Mbale

Requested over $1000 USD for a 30 person event. Suggested we fund at the standard $300 USD level, approved by the board.

    Django Girls PyConES

PyConES requested funding for event. Suggested we fund at the $300 USD level, approved by the board.

    Code Carrots

Requesting 3000 zloty, approx $800 USD donation for a 3 day event, 60 participants Rejected by the board. Is Carrots a for profit organisation?

    US Govt funding

Suggestion from Jacquie Kazil that since the US Government is a Django user, might be easier to get US grants. Insert lots of process and bureaucracy here.

    New Business

    Malcolm Tredinnick

Four nominations so far, no overlap with last year.
